The Jordanian Common Communication Format  for Bibliographic Exchange, 3rd Edition

In its efforts to encourage the use of information, the National Information Centre published the 3rd edition of the Jordanian Common Communication Format for Bibliographic Exchange. The manual is edited and translated and modified to suit Jordanian information needs by Ahmad Itayem. The Manual is designed mainly to facilitate the exchange of bibliographic data. It is a standard for the representation of bibliographic data in machine-readable form and the structure of the record is an implementation of international standards. The content of the data elements is defined by standards outside the formats; e.g. Anglo-American cataloguing rules and Library of Congress Subject Headings. The Manual is a set of codes and content designators defined for encoding machine-readable records.
